A calm base camp for Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes covers more than 170,000 acres of forest between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, with hiking, paddling, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing and hundreds of miles of shoreline. It is a full day of country, and many visitors prefer to sleep somewhere quiet and settled rather than pack up and move every night. Huggins Haven gives you that: a fixed wooded site you can leave set up all week.

What there is to do at Land Between the Lakes

The Elk and Bison Prairie, the Woodlands Nature Station, the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and the Golden Pond Planetarium are the best known stops. Anglers come for crappie, bass and catfish on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, and the North–South Trail runs the length of the recreation area for hikers and backpackers.

Why stay at Huggins Haven instead of inside the recreation area

Sites inside Land Between the Lakes fill up fast in season and many are primitive. Our sites are level gravel with water and electric, open all year, and priced at $45 to $47 a night with weekly and 30 day rates available. The property has a fishing pond, a walking trail, a playground, a swing by the water and a fire pit at every site, and we are pet friendly.

Other stops on the same trip
