Seasons to Know
Kentucky’s hunting seasons typically run as follows (check the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources for exact dates each year):
- Deer: Archery season starts in early September, muzzleloader in October, modern gun in November, and late seasons run into January
- Turkey: Spring season runs April through May; fall season in October and November
- Waterfowl: November through January, depending on zone
- Small game: Squirrel, rabbit, and quail seasons run fall through winter
